Could Joel Madden Propose?

Could Joel Madden be ready to propose to his expecting girlfriend, Nicole Richie?

Speculation has run wild for months over whether Madden and Nicole would tie the knot, with anticipation reaching a fever pitch since Nicole confirmed her pregnancy earlier this month.

Regis Philbin broached the subject this morning when he welcomed Madden and his band, Good Charlotte, to ABC's "Live with Regis and Kelly."

"You're going to present her, maybe, with - did I hear the right thing, or should I not even talk about this?" Regis said to Joel.

When Madden replied with an "uh, what?," Regis quickly got to the point.

"A little ring, or something," he prodded.

"I was hoping it would be a surprise," laughed Madden, "but uh..."

But nothing! Joel didn't finish the sentence.

Regis, with a quick "ah dammit," turned straight to Joel's identical twin brother, Benji, and said, "What's new with you, big boy?"

Madden's and Richie's lips have been sealed about when (and if) they intend to marry, but could Joel have hinted at something real when Regis put him on the spot?

Only time will tell. For now, Madden is all about preparing for his child with Nicole, who is currently 4 1/2 months into her term.

"Yeah, we're expecting a baby," he said this morning, to cheers from the audience. "I did it."

He told Regis and Kelly that he's been reading up on the subject, with books such as "What to Expect When You're Expecting," "The Expectant Father" and "Baby Signs."

Nicole was sentenced last month to four days in jail and three years probation stemming from a December DUI arrest, and must complete her sentence by September 28. While rumors have surfaced that the couple plan to tie the knot before she serves her sentence, that has not been confirmed.

One thing that is for certain? Nicole's joy over being an expecting mother:

As she told ABC's Diane Sawyer earlier this month, "I'm so excited about my baby's life and this is just...it's so much bigger than me."

Paris Won't Comment

Despite best efforts by paparazzi all around the Hollywood area Paris Hilton just won't say anything about her friend Nicole Richie's pregnancy. Perhaps Paris is feeling a bit jealous?

Nicole Richie Not Going to Pokey

Rumors had circulated all morning about whether Nicole Richie was going to turn herself in tonight to Lynwood Correctional Facility where Paris Hilton also served her time and reports are now in that say Nicole will not be going tonight. She has until September 28, 2007 to serve her 4 days in the pokey.

Jailhouse Blues

Nicole Richie has been sentenced to 4 days in jail and a fine of $2048 plus 21 days of alcohol education for her 2nd offense DUI charge. Looks like showing up on time and well behaved has a direct impact upon how much time you will serve. Nicole who is expected to have her baby in January sometime is required to report to the L.A. County Jail by September 28th.

Richie Faces The Judge

Nicole is at the L.A. County Superior Court where she is scheduled to appear to answer to charges of her second DUI. Rumors were saying last night that Richie was going to take a plea that would result in a minimum of 5 days in jail. If we remember from Paris's stay in jail 5 days in L.A. is really only 2.5 so we shall see how long she stays. More details available later!

Nicole Richie Out of Hiding

We all know that after her postponed court date earlier Nicole disappeared and was not heard from. Now it is time to come out of hiding and Nicole has an interview scheduled with Diane Sawyer of ABC that is scheduled to air on Good Morning America and even 20/20. The dates the interview will be aired is August 2nd and 3rd on Good Morning America and then on 20/20 which airs on August 3rd as well.

Nicole Plea in the Works?

As the case gears up to get started, rumors are flying that Nicole Richie's lawyers will be taking a plea agreement that has been offered to the accused Nicole. With her motion for a continuance hanging in the balance, and Nicole in Canada it is uncertain whether the plea will be taken, or whether it will be a fast haul back to L.A. to be on time for court.

Nicole's Continuance Given a No Go

Uh oh, seems as if one Hollywood blond should have told another Hollywood blond that pissing off someone with the authority to send you to jail is a big no no these days. With Paris fresh from the jail scene herself, you would think Nicole would be playing good girl in court. Instead she was busy requesting a continuance until August 5th, however the commissioner hearing her case has said no and that the court proceeding will start tomorrow at 8:30a.m. as scheduled no exceptions. Let's see how this little Simple Life girl is able to survive court.

Here's a tip, learn from Paris and at least show up on time if nothing else. Don't keep a judge waiting unless you don't mind waiting behind bars a few days.

Lionel Denies Preggers Rumors

Daddy Lionel claims that there is no facts behind the pregnancy and engagement rumors that keep swirling around Nicole's head lately. His story is if the facts were actually true, then he would be one of the first to know. How close the two are lately isn't exactly known, but since Nicole is 25 she may be thinking she can make her own decisions and tell daddy when she feels like it. Plus who said that Lionel is really telling the truth?

Nicole Wedding Dress Pursuit

While many stars rush out and purchase the first dress they can find, scrawny Nicole is searching wildly for the perfect dress that she adores. Sources say that she has a ton of different designers she's interested in but just asn't decided for sure. Seems if that wedding is coming up soon, she better hurry up and buy before she starts showing.

Nicole Richie Having Her Baby in Jail?

Laugh all you want, but with Nicole Richie going to court soon over a DUI she received a few months ago and expecting a stork in as little as 6 months it is very possible that it could happen. So what happens if this does occur, well after a relaxing 3 day stay at the hospital of LA Correctional's choice it would be back to jail for Richie. This means baby will be going home with either Joel or perhaps her parents.

Bad news is, the tiny celeb may not be allowed special VIP treatment! Yikes, if the LA County Jail does not determine she's as special as Paris Hilton she will be serving her sentence in the general population around all of the other inmates. Worse news is they receive a high calorie diet, complete with extra mystery meat and a nice prenatal vitamin.

Perfect Nursery Colors

In the wake of Paris's trip to the pokey, and now Nicole facing jail time in a DUI charge herself it brings the questions of the proper nursery colors for these little party girls. Should they choose a nice passive pastel pink and blue motif, or should they stick to the highly spicy colors of orange, with a few black and white stripes added in for effect?

Maybe Nicole will have a more sympathetic judge as long as she is a good girl and learns from Paris's mistakes.

Bringing Home Baby!!!!! Nicole Richie and Joel Madden

OMG from all of the bad girls in Hollywood another one is spawning a child! Nicole Richie is pregnant, and planning on getting married this summer to boyfriend of 6 months Joel Madden from the band Good Charlotte. Who knew the Simple Life star actually would have a baby, much less how this will affect her July 11 trial date at court. Jail baby in the future perhaps?

Now we can only hope that Brittney doesn't start feeling maternal again, or god forbid Paris! Who will be the worse celeb party mom, Brittney or Nicole?
